Over the years, air travel has become a common means of transport that new airline have tried their hands to offer this service. However, in recent decades, few have managed to succeed and stay in business. This is due to several reasons ranging from a generally good service, reputation and reliability. There are three national carriers that have demonstrated over the years, Air Canada, WestJet and CanJet.

AIR CANADA

September 1, 1937 marked the first flight of the day, Trans Canada Air Lines, 50 minutes from Vancouver and Seattle. In 1964, the company had grown into a national airline of Canada in the first and changed its name to Air Canada. In 1989 the company was privatized. Today, Air Canada has become the largest full-service Canada, and the eleventh largest in the world of commercial airlines.

The headquarters of the company is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec by Elliott Pierre Trudeau International Airport, with hubs in Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver. The company employs about 24,700 full-time employees, according to record in 2008, served about 33 million passengers to 170 destinations on five continents. Most domestic flights of Air Canada offers two service classes, which are Executive / Business and First Class Economy Class. This is, however, offer three classes of service in some European flights, executive, economy and premium economy, the goal is to provide a flight more comfortable if the length of the longer trips.

Over the years, Air Canada has been recognized by numerous awards and continues to seek ways to improve services and improvement of the fleet. They do not want more new non-stop flights in 2009 to monitor the increase of additional non-stop flights in 2008.

WestJet

This company has been in business a dozen years (from 1997) and has earned a reputation for being warmed and friendly airline. "For the third consecutive year, won the title of the culture of most admired companies in Canada by Waterstone Human Capital. WestJet strives to fulfill its commitment to ensure a safe ride service, friendly and affordable air.

The company is the second largest airline in Italy, based in Calgary, Alberta. They employ about 7500 people and the airline is unique in that non-unionized airlines. The fleet consists of about 80 aircraft (Boeing 737 only), which flies to 55 destinations. Its first flight departs February 29, 1996 and the company was then 220 employees. At the end of 1997 had served their millions of customers.

The company has grown by leaps and bounds, and it is expected that by 2016, became one of the five most successful international airlines in the world.

CanJet Airlines

CanJet Airlines is a division of IMP Group Limited, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. E 'on Canada's most recent addition to the family of full service air charter. The small airline operates a fleet of about 7, 800 Boeing 737 aircraft configured for 189 seats. Now serves over 14 destinations and includes flights from coast to coast, from Halifax to Calgary and Vancouver, nationally, and many major U.S. cities such as New York LaGuardia and Orlando, Florida. They also have several international flights.

The airline saw its first flight in 1999 but merged with a small second airline Canada 3000 in 2001. Re CanJet successfully launched 20 June 2002 as an independent company. They have a base of about 600 employees and 31 have the destination of the flight, based on its two centers, Halifax and Montreal.

Of all the airlines in Canada, these are the three main competitors. Many of them have subsidiaries, such as airlines, Air Canada Jazz, which runs at intervals shorter designations. All three is planning to expand in the coming years will be interesting to see how the progress of each one.
